Evolving Style
You may remeber that, a few years ago, I had mentioned that I'd been experiencing pain in my feet. It has gotten much worse. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I haven't had much luck with the different prescriptions yet - I'm still optimistic, though. Unfortunately my love of pretty heels has been sidelined. I've been very lucky to find that there are lots of flats that are pretty and stylish and not at all old-ladyish. I got these today - my first pair in my evolving personal style. They are quite comfortable. They will look nice with my usual easy-going look or the vintage style that I've always loved and want to incorporate into my closet. If my problems get worse I'll be investing in a few more pairs of cute and chic flats. Until then, my heels are still in my closet, waiting for another chance to have a fling.

As a fellow FMS gal, I completely understand where you're coming from on the shoe front. Interestingly, I actually find that sometimes I have an easier time with heels than flats (especially if I have to do a lot of walking), but this is by no means a hard and fast rule. Earlier this year I bought a pair of black flats and pair of black heels (they heels are short, maybe 1.5") from Payless that are from their line designed specifically for people (like servers, flight attendants, etc) who are on their feet for hours on end. I've been living in both pairs ever since, and haven't had them bug my fibro in the least (even when I've had them on for 12+ hours straight).
Thank you very much for your comment on my post about collecting brooches. I'm completely touched to know that you find my site and style inspiring, and can't encourage you enough to become a vintage girl, too, if that's where your heart is leading you.
Wishing you a gorgeous Monday & week ahead,
♥ Jessica
